Germany grew up in the Bonton area of Dallas and got connected to the BridgeBuilders organization. Germany was able to obtain his drivers’ license at the age of 19 through ourt mentor-taught program and is now a licensed truck driver. His younger sister is currently a student in the SDDA program and she also hopes to begin a career in trucking.

Bonton - Dallas, TX

Alonso Ortiz

A son of Honduran immigrants, Alonzo grew up in Bonton, one of the poorest neighborhoods in the United States. BridgeBuilders, a non-profit organization in his neighborhood recruited Alonzo as part of their youth program “CrossOver” where he participated in team sports from 6th - 8th grade including football, basketball and learned a solid work-ethic. Alonzo maintained the relationship with BridgeBuilders and was introduced to the opportunity of obtaining his drivers license through the SDDA Programs.
